最新三星GalaxyS4能在两种LTE网络间自由切换

新华网8月1日电据科技博客Gizmodo报道，三星最新款的Galaxy S4和S4 Mini不仅能够支持FDD-LTE和TDD-LTE两种网络格式，而且还能在两者间自由转换，任何正在使用的功能都不会受到影响。

在世界各地旅游，想要链接上LTE网络可能比较麻烦，三星公司最新版的Galaxy S4或许就是你祈盼已久的答案。升级版的Galaxy S4和S4 Mini，将成为世界上首批能够在两种LTE网络制式间自动转换的手机。FDD-LTE是世界大多数地区标准的网络制式，TDD-LTE目前也开始在世界各地兴起。

虽然中兴在2012年年末就推出了中国第一款支持双模式的LTE手机，不过那款机型必须要经过一次较为繁琐的重启，才能在两个网络制式间进行转换。三星公司称，升级版的S4支持双网络，而且在制式转换期间，连续的语音功能或者数据覆盖都不会受到任何影响。过去周游世界的人们为了连接不同格式的网络，要么走到哪儿都得拿着几个很容易发热的手机，要么得花费很多宝贵的时间调换SIM卡，就好像在玩“糖果大爆险”（ Candy Crunch Saga）一样。三星公司表示，升级版的S4和S4 Mini 将于2013年第三季度全球同步上市。

When they arrive, the updated Galaxy S4 and S4 Mini will be the world"s first handsets to automatically switch between the two different types of LTE networks used worldwide. While FDD-LTE is the standard in most of the world, TDD-LTE is becoming more popular in countries around the world.

While ZTE introduced the first dual-mode LTE phone in China in late 2012, that handset required a not-so-seamless reboot to switch networks. Samsung claims its dual-mode S4 will allow continuous voice or data coverage even during format switchover. So globetrotters used to juggling a carry on full of burner phones or switching out SIM cards can spend that time doing more important things. Like playing Candy Crunch Saga. Samsung says the dual-mode phones will launch worldwide sometime in the third quarter of 2013.
